K9s For Warriors aims to help veterans suffering from the trauma of war by providing them with Assistance Dog International certified service canines at no cost to the veteran. The organization trains the canines and matches them with warriors, who work with their canines for three weeks. K9 For Warriors reports that 90% of the canines are rescues but some come from private donors or are purchased. The training program offers daily living skills, community integration, peer-to-peer interaction, and human and animal bonding. As reported by K9 For Warriors, 114 warrior-dog teams graduated from the training program in 2017.

Charity: Water

Clean water can change everything for people in developing countries. Charity Water works in developing countries to provide drinking water through programs and technologies that include drilled wells, hand-dug wells, rehabilitations, spring protections, rainwater catchments, and BioSand filters. Charity Water tracks every dollar you’ve earned and shows the projects you helped fund with photos and GPS and 100% of the money donated funds water projects as private donors cover operated expenses.

Humane Society of NW Montana

Over 1,900 animals have been adopted and given a second chance for a forever home. In addition to facilitating pet adoptions and providing temporary housing for homeless cats and dogs, the Humane Society of NW Montana also offers solution oriented service programs designed to help the community with animal welfare education and pet ownership assistance.

Our community service programs are designed to reach students and adults in the Flathead Valley and include an Educational Outreach Program, Pet Food Assistance Program, Injured Animal Fund, and Microchip Clinics. Through our Educational Outreach Program, we educate hundreds of elementary and middle school students annually on the topics of animal welfare and animal safety. In conjunction with area retailers and the Flathead Food Bank, we distribute pet food to families in need and to local animal rescue groups. Our Injured Animal Fund helps pay emergency veterinary care expenses for pet owners who may not otherwise be able to seek medical treatment for their pet. To help pet owners permanently identify their pets, we also offer low-cost microchip clinics to the general public. Donate today to help homeless dogs and cats.
